Real Wedding Report (I love this wedding!)

In my last post I mentioned Posh Paperie being at the bridal show. Well let me explain why I was so excited to see them.

First of all I think their designs and products are great. They are really unique and detail oriented which I love. When I go through their website I think basically love everything I see. We don’t have the budget for having them do our invitation stationary, but I still can look at the amazing inspiration!!

Second is that one of the people behind Posh Paperie is Karrie. Karrie recently got married and her wedding was featured in Style Me Pretty and several over wedding blog sites. Her wedding was incredible and still stands out to me in all the “real wedding” features I have seen. She did a lot of the details herself which makes it even more special. She was super sweet in person and I really enjoyed meeting her, even if I felt like a totally wedding nerd when I told her I loved her wedding in the blogs.

Make sure you also check out Karrie’s blog and her new website.

Anyways I wanted to do a “real wedding report” and share with you the pictures I found from her wedding. Amy Squires was the photographer and you can see more pictures on her blog. (Also just be sure to check the blog if you want to see more amazing weddings and photography) The photos I have below are from Amy Squires, you have already seen a few from my invitation inspiration post last week, but they are great so I’m sure you won’t mind looking again.

I love the green streamers as they come out of the church!

I think this is a fun picture! I like the contrast between the dirt road and that they are dressed formally for the wedding.

Look at the ocean in the background of this picture!! This makes me wish our wedding was closer to the ocean.

Such a cute shot!

I love the simplicity of these centerpieces, but they look amazing!! I think in general I like the cluster of a bunch of different things.

This cake is beautiful! It was made by Melody Brandon of My Sweet and Saucy. It’s in San Diego, so I definitely will be calling her about my own wedding cake! She also did the silhouette cookies below:

Silhouettes were made of each guest at the wedding! I can’t get over how amazingly creative this was!

I’m a shoe person so I had to show you the close up of this fun pair!

***I have been having problems with images above, so in case it is not working for you as well here are the pictures from Style Me Pretty.

What do you think? Can you understand why I love this wedding and why I was so excited to meet Karrie in person?

Bridal Show Recap

This last weekend I went to my second bridal show. I went to my first bridal show shortly after getting engaged down at the San Diego Convention Center with my mom. This was a HUGE show and was kind of overwhelming. I felt like there were some great vendors and a lot of not so great, but it still was a good experience to have and get some ideas.

For bridal show #2 I took Mark and one of my bridesmaids who has a great eye for style and puts up with all my wedding rambling. I received free tickets from our ceremony and reception site and knew a day of coordinator I was considering was going to be there, so off we went for Bridal Show #2.

Here a few pictures of some table and centerpiece ideas that we saw:

Some of the delicious samples from caterers and bakeries! You could have made a whole meal out of what was there (The last show I went to only had cake, but this show had every course you could ever want to serve):

How great would it be to have caramel apples at a fall wedding?

One of the vendors I was so excited to see at the show was Posh-Paperie, who does amazing stationary. Remember the green and gray silhouette invitation design from a few posts ago? Yep they did it and they are from San Diego!! Check out the blog as well for some more inspiration! (I think I will just save a whole post for them later…be on the look out)

And of course a fashion show! Mark’s favorite parts: 1) when the ladies “cat walk” resembled a cobra 2) when the groom had his jacket buttoned wrong and did not notice until he got to the end of the runway 3) the “scandal” of the bride’s strap falling off the dress

While we had a lot of fun at show, I don’t think it was the most useful for where we personally are at in the planning. The show was really well put together and I liked it a lot more than the last show I went to. However, a lot of the vendors were photographers and locations and we have already booked those 2 things. I had hoped to see a bunch of florists and day of coordinators at the show, but there weren’t too many. I think the show would be great for someone who has not done a lot of event planning and wants to get ideas and access to a lot of vendors.

What are your experiences at past bridal shows?
